John,

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been appointed to the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability!

Oversight and Accountability is the main investigative committee in the House, and has extremely broad jurisdiction, which means we will be searching for truth and transparency on a wide range of issues – from looking into the actions of individual politicians, to assessing the legality of corporate practices, the impact of conspiracy theories on our democracy, the effectiveness of certain laws and policies, and more.

In the United States, the power vested in our government comes from the people – and without transparency to earn and keep the people’s trust, our democracy loses its legitimacy.

I ran for office because I will not let democracy fail in my lifetime – and I will be working overtime to make sure that we deliver answers, results, and the truth to the American people on the issues that matter most. Our democracy demands it, and you deserve nothing less.
