As we near the end of January, one thing is clear: the new Congress is divided.

Republicans hold an extremely narrow majority in the House, and they've already shown their inability to reach consensus and effectively govern. Despite the dysfunction, I will still strive to do good work and get things done.

As representatives, we are elected to serve no matter who holds the majority .
