Team,
We’re barely into 2023, but we’re already hard at work preparing to get big things done in the new year – and I wanted to take a moment to share my priorities with you.
We have a responsibility to ensure that our spending and our investment as a country reflects our values, and with the livability of our planet at stake, it’s urgent that we tackle the climate crisis.
From the economic toll of disaster spending, to the effects of pollution on public health, to the damage to our environment, climate change will wreak budgetary and economic havoc — and it’s going to get worse, thanks to the political mischief of the fossil fuel industry and its dark-money machine. If we don’t act now, the outcome may be dire.
The climate crisis isn’t the only one we urgently need to address. Families are dealing with runaway economic inequality, a tax system rigged for big corporations and wealthy individuals, a health care system that too often does not work for patients, and a Supreme Court compromised by special interest influence.
We can do better. I am dedicated to shining a fearless light on these and other issues that affect families in Rhode Island and across the country.
There is a lot of work to be done. But I’m ready to hit the ground running in the new session to make America work better for working people. I hope you’ll join me in this work by chipping in to my campaign.
Thank you for all of your support, today and every day.
