Late last month, Congress passed and Joe Biden signed into law the FY2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) – including language from legislation I introduced last year to repeal the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for service members. 
 
This was a major victory. But our work to right this wrong is far from over. 

I’m proud to be leading the fight to reinstate those who were discharged over this abusive and reckless mandate WITH BACK PAY! 

I’ve officially reintroduced the AMERICANS Act, with 18 co-authors in the U.S. Senate, and it is mission critical that we build overwhelming public support to get it passed.

The AMERICANS Act would provide an avenue for those who want to return to service to be reinstated at their prior rank with full benefits and back pay lost after their involuntary separation. For those who would rather not return to service, it provides an avenue to ensure their discharge is honorable and that they receive the full benefits they’ve earned defending our great nation. 
 
Brave men and women who’ve stepped up to serve in our military never should have been discharged for exercising their conscience. 

I will never stop fighting for our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen who were wrongfully terminated – I’m going to hold the Democrats’ feet to the fire until we get the AMERICANS Act across the finish line!
