Dem AGs are critical building the bench of Democratic leaders
Friend,
As the Democratic Attorney General of North Carolina, Josh Stein has worked to protect voting rights, push back against gerrymandering, increase access to reproductive care, and ensure the right to safe and legal abortion. Now, he’s running for Governor of North Carolina to continue that fight.
AG Stein is just one example of Dem AGs building the bench of progressive state leaders who ultimately step into different roles where we need them.
There’s no doubt that who we elect to offices like governor and senator is extremely important, friend — but the fact that a lot of these candidates are Democratic AGs is a big deal. They’re becoming household names their constituents can know and trust. When the time comes for them to take on different responsibilities, people vote for them again because they know Dem AGs get work done.
Not only do we need bold and competent Dem AGs to stand as a safeguard against an onslaught of right-wing attacks on our freedoms and democracy, but we need to build a pipeline of Democratic leaders who are ready to step into bigger and bigger roles for their communities.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
