Updates from Washington
I introduced the bipartisan National Digital Reserve Corp Act
Despite many of the challenges we face in Congress, I have always been committed to working across the aisle to deliver for the people of the Second District. That’s why I’ve introduced the National Digital Reserve Corp Act with Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales to protect our national cybersecurity infrastructure and create a pipeline for people of all backgrounds to use their technical expertise in the federal workforce.
Updates from District
District Swearing-In in Matteson, IL
I was sworn in in my hometown of Matteson, IL by The Honorable Judge Nichole Patton. Surrounded by constituents from all over the Second District, I took the sacred oath of office to serve the people and protect our country from all enemies foreign and domestic. I take this oath very seriously.
Pullman Designated as a National Historical Park
I was so proud to lead the effort to re-designate Pullman National Monument as a National Historic Park. Last week, I was joined by other Illinois leaders, including Senator Durbin and Mayor Lightfoot, to celebrate this accomplishment. Pullman National Historical Park will now have the permanent protection of the National Parks Service to uphold its legacy and teach its history. Residents from all over the country, and all over the world, have already begun to flock to Pullman to learn about the historic strike that sparked the American labor movement and the Pullman Porters who formed the first African American labor union.
Promise of Pembroke Celebration
After years of working with local leaders and residents, I joined the residents of Hopkins Park and Pembroke to celebrate the new economic development opportunities in the community. The new, reliable source of energy provided by a public/private partnership will allow residents to thrive and businesses to flourish.
As the 118th Congress begins in earnest, I am so happy that I have the opportunity to represent you. Whether I am home in the district or fighting for you in Washington, the people of the Second District are always my first priority.
