It's hard to believe it, but the first major deadline of the 2023 election cycle is fast approaching — the primary filing deadline.
So, if you're interested in running for office in your city or town for a seat on the council, or as clerk-treasurer, or even mayor, you have until next Friday, February 3 at noon to file your declaration of candidacy.
I know it seems like it's only the national presidential or statewide elections that get all the attention from the media, but please, make no mistake: local elections are just as important.
It's the people in these positions who decide which of your local roads or streets get fixed, what parks to improve, or how much support to give to your local police officers and firefighters. It's these decisions that directly impact you every day, that impact your family, and that impact your neighbors.
And as Indiana continues to grow, you want to make sure that your city or town is doing everything that it can to grow along with it. It's up to all of us to keep our communities a place that we're proud to call home and work to make it one others will too.
So if you're interested in making this happen as a candidate, make sure you file on time. And if you want to be the person that helps such a candidate win, be sure to get connected.
Enjoy this week's newsletter and share it with a friend.
Sincerely,
