In the first month of 2023, over 100 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been filed in state legislatures across the country. These bills, limiting gender-affirming healthcare and restricting LGBTQ+ rights, have followed a rise in hate speech and attacks against the trans community.

And at the root of legislative action against the LGBTQ+ community – and the trans community in particular – are misrepresentations and disinformation.
