John, we want to say thank you to everyone who made a gift in honor of International Day of Education!
Your generous support helps children like 14-year-old Sreyvatey,* who lives in a floating house on Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake. She travels to her floating school by boat, but climate change is putting her schooling – and her future – at risk. Increasingly frequent storms make her daily journey more dangerous, and the intense heat in the dry season makes it hard for children to concentrate.
But your generosity is making a tangible difference, John. With your support, we installed solar-powered fans so Sreyvatey and her classmates can keep cool while learning. We repaired storm damage and decorated classrooms to make them a more inviting space to learn. And we introduced ecology lessons to educate students about climate change and the environment – crucial topics in a community whose livelihood depends on the health of the lake.
All this and more is only possible because of supporters like you. We could not be more grateful for your partnership in ensuring all children have access to the education and opportunities they deserve. Thank you for investing in children’s futures.
