The United States has poured a whopping $113.4 billion into Ukraine (yes, that's billion with a b). And who is Biden placing on the hook for footing this bill? The U.S. taxpayers. Make no mistake–I support the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom against Russia. Defeating Putin would cause a lot of good, ceasing future Russian aggression and showing China the west can’t be messed with. But I can’t support blindly sending billions of dollars overseas while our own economy gets worse every day. Europe needs to step up and take more of the lead in assisting Ukraine since this gruesome war is right on its doorstep. There’s a way to do what’s right on the world stage while also looking out for our people here at home. And that means offering our assistance only where absolutely necessary and letting Europe fight this war for themselves. |
