I know Heidi already broke the news about former Wisconsin State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski joining the One Country Project Board, and I'm just here to echo my excitement and ask you to join us in welcoming her.
Throughout my own career, I've fought to ensure rural America's interests and priorities are well-represented and hardworking rural communities get the resources they need to succeed. Having represented rural families in Congress and worked to shape policies that support rural communities as Secretary of Agriculture, I can tell you firsthand that statewide executives like Sarah help determine whether or not those policies succeed.
I've watched Sarah Godlewski champion issues of fairness and access — both as State Treasurer and as a candidate against Republican Ron Johnson, one of the most out-of-touch members of the U.S. Senate — and there's no question she brings both serious policy chops and formidable grassroots organizing skills to One Country Project.
