At the request of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Council (EQC), the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is providing an additional written comment opportunity related to proposed revisions to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Water Quality Rules Chapter 12, Design and Construction Standards for Public Water Supplies, Docket 22-3103. The revisions include new requirements for public water supplies that propose well acidization, updates to water treatment technologies, the incorporation by reference of the Recommended Standards for Water Works, 2018 Edition, and minor corrections made since the chapter was noticed on August 31, 2022. The chapter meets minimum substantive state statutory requirements per W.S. § 16-3-103(a)(i)(G). Individuals with questions regarding the rulemaking may contact Keenan Hendon at (307) 777-7075. EQC will consider additional written public comments submitted beginning January 27, 2023, and ending at 5:00 p.m. (MT) on March 14, 2023. Written comments may be submitted via mail to WDEQ/WQD, 200 West 17th St, Ste. 200, Cheyenne, WY, 82002 or submitted through and accepted electronically at https://wq.wyomingdeq.commentinput.com. The EQC will only consider the written comments submitted and continue deliberations of the proposed revisions to Chapter 12 at a future hearing.
