Marching for a Pro-Life America in a Post-Roe World
By: Nicole Hunt
Last Friday, Washington, D.C., hosted the largest annual human rights demonstration in the world — the National March for Life — advocating for the protection of babies in the womb.
Pro-life friends from all across the nation gathered to celebrate and rally for life. Today’s march was the first since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the United States Supreme Court. The energy in the crowd was palpable.
This time last year, the Supreme Court had already held oral argument in the case that reversed Roe, but the outcome was not known until last June. Attendees at the march last January were cautiously optimistic but had no idea what the Court would decide.

Educators, Parents and Students Rally to Support National School Choice Week
By: Jeff Johnston
It’s National School Choice Week, January 23-28, with educators, parents, students and school choice activists gathering across the country to support educational freedom and discover innovative, empowering options in their state.
According to a press release from the group, “Nearly two thirds of U.S. parents (64.7 percent) say they wish they had more information about the schooling options available for their children.”
The event “includes participation by more than 23,000 schools — including 13.7 percent of public-sector K-12 schools and 24.5 percent of private K-12 schools across the nation,” the organization said.
The week began in 2011 and was organized by the National School Choice Awareness Foundation, a non-profit that works to raise awareness about parents’ choices in education and to improve K-12 education for all students.
Many states and school districts have events where parents can learn about school choice. School choice generally refers to parents choosing from six different kinds of schooling: traditional public school, charter school, magnet school, homeschool, private school and blended and online education. We’re all familiar with traditional public schools, paid for and run by the state government, with some federal funding, where families are assigned to a local school by their address.

Florida Supreme Court Rejects Request to Block 15-Week Abortion Ban, But Agrees to Hear Challenge to the Law
By: Bruce Hausknecht
In a blow to the pro-abortion lobby in its pursuit of striking down Florida’s new 15-week abortion ban, the Florida Supreme Court has denied a request to temporarily block the law while it prepares to hear legal arguments challenging the law’s constitutionality.
House Bill 5 (HB 5), titled the “Reducing Fetal and Infant Mortality Act,” was passed by the Florida Legislature in 2022 and prohibits abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, with exceptions for the life of the mother or risk of irreversible physical impairment, and for fatal fetal abnormalities.
The law was immediately challenged in court by the ACLU of Florida and other pro-abortion organizations and abortion sellers as allegedly violating the Florida Constitution’s guarantee of privacy.
Since then, a trial court judge blocked the law by issuing a temporary injunction, but a state appeals court reversed that order. That led the ACLU to ask the Florida Supreme Court to reinstate the temporary injunction, called a “stay.”
In a 4-1 ruling, the justices rejected the request for a stay, accepted the case for consideration and set a short briefing schedule that should lead to oral arguments being heard in the next few months. The lone dissenter, Justice Jorge Labarga, who was appointed to the Florida Supreme Court by former Governor Charlie Crist, would have granted a stay blocking the law from taking effect until the court could hear and decide the abortionists’ appeal.

Jesus, the NFL and the ‘He Gets Us’ Campaign
By: Paul Batura
If you’ve watched any football lately, or any television for that matter, you’ve likely seen the ads — black-and-white or color images, some video, juxtaposed with music and narration. They’re story-driven, relatable, personal, emotional, and they all end with the same tagline:
He gets us. All of us. Jesus.
The $100 million ad campaign, originally launched in the spring, is the brainchild of “The Servant Foundation” — a 501(c)(3) organization that’s managed by The Signatry, a Kansas-based foundation that focuses on “discipleship and outreach efforts, Bible translations, cultural care, church plants, anti-human-trafficking missions, student ministries, poverty alleviation, clean water initiatives, and so much more.”
According to campaign officials, the “He Gets Us” ads during the NFL playoffs have made 166 million impressions as of January 20th. But since the overall project began in the spring, the outreach, including billboards and videos on YouTube, have made 6.5 billion impressions around the world.
Given our increasingly secular culture, what’s especially extraordinary about the effort is how little controversy the ads and billboards have elicited, at least to date. After all, the name of Jesus is being projected on massive Times Square signs in New York City — and on TVs in bars and restaurants all around the country — and yet there is far more intrigue than outrage.

A Profile in Congeniality and Conviction: Coach Tony Dungy
By: Zachary Mettler
Disliking Coach Tony Dungy is akin to not liking apple pie. It’s nearly impossible. But unfortunately, some on the left don’t see it that way.
On January 20, 2023, Dungy spoke at the 50th annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. He spoke for roughly four minutes, telling the audience of tens of thousands, “Every day in this country innocent lives are at stake.”
Prior to speaking at and attending the march, Coach Dungy tweeted, “Tomorrow Lauren and I will be in Washington DC attending the 2023 March For Life. It will be my first time at the March and I’m looking forward to joining my friend @BenjaminSWatson and thousands of others who will be there to support those unborn babies who don’t have a voice.”
The tweet has since been seen over 3.4 million times. For that tweet and for speaking at the March, Coach Dungy has been the target of vitriolic and hateful attacks from many on the left. He’s been called a “right-wing extremist” and an “anti-gay bigot.”
But who is Coach Dungy?
Anthony (Tony) Kevin Dungy was born October 6, 1955, to parents Wilbur and Cleomae Dungy in Jackson, Michigan. Wilbur Dungy served as a pilot in the Army Air Forces with the famed Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. Wilbur went on to become a biology professor while Cleomae became an English teacher.
