We are nearly at the end of the month and we have an important fundraising goal for July. I’m going to ask you for a contribution, but first I want to tell you why.

In 2018 when I won my race it was a moment of enormous gratitude and a feeling of enormous responsibility. We won that race not just because we knocked hundreds of thousands of doors across Central Virginia, but because we did something our predecessor did not: we listened to the people of the district and built a grassroots campaign.

Our campaign resonated with voters. And when I went to Capitol Hill, I made it my priority to ensure that the people of Virginia’s seventh had someone in their corner in the corridors of Congress every single day.

I’m incredibly proud of what we have accomplished: We passed a prescription drug package on the House Floor, I personally introduced a bill that increases transparency in prescription drug pricing, and it has passed out of two committees with bipartisan support. I have also co-sponsored a bill that would allow Medicare Part D to negotiate its drug costs to help lower costs. And I helped introduce and pass a landmark bill that limits special interest money in politics and strengthens transparency.

We were able to achieve these things because we have a Democratic House of Representatives and because you have helped me win.  Now, I need your help to achieve our July fundraising goal. Can you make a contribution today?  We’re $7,230 from our goal and I’d appreciate your support.
