BREAKING: All 5 former Memphis police officers have been charged for the
brutal and fatal beating of Tyre Nichols.

This in most part thanks to Real Justice-backed DA Steve Mulroy who, in
one of the quickest turnarounds we have seen, took the first step in
holding these cops accountable.

John, this is
huge both for Tyre’s family and for our nationwide fight to charge and
prosecute guilty cops for violent policing.

It’s exactly why we worked so hard last year to elect Steve as District
Attorney of Shelby County and defeat Amy Weirich — one of the most corrupt
and racist DAs in America.

If we didn’t do that work last year to remove the despicable former DA,
it’s very possible that these officers wouldn’t have been charged. They
likely would have gotten off scot-free!!

quickly to hold cops accountable. Will you pitch in right now to fund our
work in recruiting, supporting, and electing more progressive and civil
rights-minded DAs?

In case you haven't heard about the case, the former police officers beat
Tyre Nichols for over 3 minutes to DEATH after a simple traffic stop.

Witnesses say it was the worst beating they’ve seen — worse than Rodney
King’s.

His friends and family couldn’t recognize him from photos when he was
hospitalized because of how badly he was beaten.

John, no
one should lose their life after a traffic stop.

And the reality is that if there wasn't a reform-minded DA like Steve in
place to hold cops accountable in Memphis, these officers would be walking
our streets freely with no repercussions.

But thanks to your hard work and support of this movement, all 5 former
officers involved in Tyre Nichols’ beating have been charged with
second-degree murder.

While this is a step toward accountability, there are too many police
officers across this country still not being held accountable for murder.
We need to keep fighting hard to elect DAs who will make sure that police
can't get away with brutalizing, criminalizing and killing people in their
communities.

Real Justice
