Folks,
Last night, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave her State of the State Address, providing a clear vision for Michigan’s future and laying out her plans to tackle the biggest issues facing our state.
Gov. Whitmer’s speech served as a great reminder of how lucky we are to have such a strong leader, and why it is so important we continue to support her efforts to push Michigan forward.
So please, if you’re able, will you show your support for Governor Whitmer by chipping in $25 to our ‘Michigan First’ Fund and continue fighting for Michigan’s working families?
In her address, Gov. Whitmer discussed her Lowering MI Costs plan to repeal the retirement tax, boost the Working Families Tax Credit, and deliver pre-K for all—proposals that would save Michigan’s working families thousands of dollars and fight back against inflation.
She spoke about her office’s Make it in Michigan Package that would create better-paying jobs and bring more supply chains to Michigan, while also proposing additional investments in law enforcement and mental health resources to help reduce crime and violence in Michigan.
And, as always, Gov. Whitmer reaffirmed her plans to protect our most basic, fundamental human rights by repealing Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban and expanding the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act to include legal protections for the LGBTQ+ community.
These are the type of Michigan-first policies we need. And why it’s so important we continue to support and work alongside Gov. Whitmer to help Michigan’s families.
So, if you’re ready to join myself and Gov. Whitmer in pushing Michigan forward, will you chip in $25 or more to the ‘Michigan First’ Fund? The time for action is now, folks.
Thanks for your continued support,
Haley Stevens
