Former Bay City Public Service Director Arraigned on Assault and Battery |
|
LANSING ? Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that former Bay City Public Service Director Michael Cecchini, 56, Bay City, was arraigned in the 74th District Court today on the misdemeanor charge of Assault and Battery. Cecchini was given a personal recognizance bond, along with orders to have no contact with the victim, no possession of any weapons, and other standard bond conditions.?
The Department announced the charges against Cecchini earlier this week. The case was assigned to the Department of Attorney General through a Special Prosecutor Assignment request on behalf of the Bay County Prosecutor?s Office.?
?Law enforcement officers are not exempt from the law and must conduct themselves accordingly in order to gain and maintain the public?s trust,? said Nessel. ?Investigating breaches of that trust is a priority for my department, and my Public Integrity Unit will continue to work with, and at the request of Prosecutors, across the state.??
A pretrial conference has been scheduled on March 2, 2023, at 9:40 am before Judge Mark E Janer.??
Please note:? A criminal charge is merely an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.? The Department does not provide booking photos.?
