Friends,

We expect Subcommittee #3 of the House Labor and Commerce Committee to consider HB77—the Green New Deal Act—next week.

It’s time to pick up our phones and call the committee chair, and if your delegate is on the committee, call him or her too.

We love the Green New Deal Act for its strong mandatory renewable portfolio standard: 80% by 2028 and 100% by 2036.

And we also love that it imposes a fossil fuel moratorium, includes strong labor standards, requires 40% of clean energy investments be directed to environmental justice communities, and provides transition assistance for fossil fuel workers.

Call the Subcommittee #3 chair ASAP to express your support for HB77. And if your delegate is on the subcommittee, please call him or her NOW to urge support for these bills!
