Today is Spouses Day. January is Poverty Awareness Month and Hot Tea Month. February is American Heart Month. Feb. 2 is Groundhog Day, the middle of winter.

National Spouses Day: January 26

National Hot Tea Month: January

U.S. imports of tea, spices, etc., were valued above $2.84 billion in 2021, $1.08 billion more than the $1.75 billion value a decade earlier in 2011.

National Poverty in America Awareness Month: January

The Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement reports the official poverty rate in 2021 was 11.6%, not statistically different from 2020.

American Heart Month: February

The 2021 American Community Survey estimates there were 712,332 physicians, 122,904 physician assistants, 17,891 radiologists, and 51,318 surgeons in the U.S.

Groundhog Day: February 2

According to NOAA, the 137th Groundhog Day originated from an ancient celebration midway between the winter solstice and spring equinox. It is the middle of winter.
