The 118th Congress is off to a predictably chaotic start, given that Speaker-in-Name-Only Kevin McCarthy gave away the store to acquire his title.

Lauren Boebert, who proved to be a key holdout during the 15 rounds of pain inflicted on McCarthy by the Freedom Caucus, clearly got what she wanted: an elevated profile in the House GOP conference; a slot on the powerful Oversight Committee; and dibs on sponsoring the pointless and perennial right-wing bill to "defund" Planned Parenthood.

We should expect more divisive nonsense from Boebert as she attempts to rise as a leader in the GOP.

That's why our top political priority of 2023 is to cut off any further federal funding to Lauren Boebert. She must be defeated and not allowed to return to government.
