Dear John,
As you know, many of our communities here in Alabama were impacted by devastating severe storms and tornadoes on January 12th which destroyed homes, churches, businesses, community centers, and lives.
I spent much of last week in Selma surveying the damage and assisting with the recovery effort. Thanks to President Biden's approval of a major disaster declaration, federal assistance is now available to individuals, local governments, nonprofits, and businesses to recover and rebuild.
I have made it my mission to ensure that the members of our community know how to access the resources available, which is why I invite you to join my LIVE Telephone Town Hall happening today, Thursday, January 26 at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Join me for an interactive conversation about the disaster assistance available to you following the January 12th storms. We'll hear from special guests:
- Kevin Wallace - Federal Coordinating Officer, FEMA
- Jason Nelson - Chief, Disaster Response & Recovery, FEMA
- Jeff Smitherman - Director, Alabama Emergency Management Agency
I want to hear from you, which is why our discussion will also feature a LIVE Q&A session where you'll have the opportunity to ask us your questions directly.
Click here to RSVP and receive a call tonight at 6:30. You can also join by dialing (877) 353-4701 at the time of the call.
Should you need assistance, please do not hesitate to call one of my district offices where my friendly staff will be happy to answer your questions or connect you with a caseworker. Phone numbers for each of my offices are listed on my website.
Please be sure to check in regularly with our website and social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) for updates.
As always, take good care. I look forward to hearing from you on tonight!
Sincerely,
Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell
