Former President Donald Trump will be allowed to return to Facebook and Instagram more than two years after he was banned for inciting violence when his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Four additional members of the Oath Keepers were convicted Monday of seditious conspiracy for their roles in the insurrection, the second major trial of far-right extremists accused of plotting to forcibly keep stop the transfer of power. The Canadian city of Edmonton has announced a partnership with ADL for identifying and reporting hate symbols.

Four More Oath Keepers Members Convicted of Sedition in Second Trial
“Four members of the far-right Oath Keepers militia were found guilty of seditious conspiracy on Monday for their roles in trying to keep Donald J. Trump in office after his 2020 election defeat, nearly two months after the group’s leader — Stewart Rhodes — was convicted of the same offense in a separate trial in November. A jury in Federal District Court in Washington also found the four defendants guilty of two separate conspiracy charges.” The New York Times:

Edmonton Partners with ADL to Identify Hate Symbols
“The City of Edmonton has announced a partnership with the New York-based Anti-Defamation League (ADL) to develop technology for identifying and reporting hate symbols locally. The Lighthouse tool, which the city is currently piloting, consists of three components: An app for people to take photos of suspected hate symbols; an online gallery that analyzes the symbols through the ADL’s Hate on Display symbol database to see if there’s a match; and a dashboard that shows the symbols, and where and when they’ve appeared to assist policymakers in making informed decisions.” Yahoo News:
