 Friend, Our work over the last two years paid off. 2022 was a historic year for Democrats up and down the ticket. Nationwide, we were able to protect every single incumbent in the Senate for the first time since Franklin Delano Roosevelt was President and outperformed all expectations in the House. In Minnesota we re-elected all of our Democratic constitutional officers, held the Minnesota House, and flipped the Minnesota Senate, winning our first trifecta in a decade. We secured these hard-fought victories together by focusing on protecting freedom, preserving democracy and always listening to the voters. When I woke up on November 9th, I was proud of the voters in Minnesota. They rejected fear and embraced science; they rejected politicians that want to take rights of women away and embraced freedom; and they rejected those who undermine democracy and stood up for preservation of the greatest experiment of self-government in human history. But some of the forces we defeated in November in Minnesota now control Congress, making the continuation of our work together more critical than ever. We know in Minnesota that success at the ballot box and representation both begin with listening. That's why I rely on my grassroots supporters to fund our work together. I could ask PACs and special interest groups, like many of my colleagues, but I refuse to play the Washington insider game. Because I believe we built an effort that can operate outside of the business as usual that corrupts our politics.
