** 2023 Rising Stars Nominations

The New York State Young Republicans (NYSYR) plan to award Rising Stars within the New York Young Republican movement at their winter conference this March. The NYSYR has asked that our Club provide two nominees for this award (one male and one female). Nominees must be between the ages of 18-40 and live in New York City.

The Board of Governors, therefore, requests that all Members share their perspectives on who would best fill this role and has created a form available here ([link removed]) to collect this data.

** Post-Lunar New Year Social with New York State Assemblyman Lester Chang

Join us for a members-only social with newly sworn-in New York State Assemblyman Lester Chang from the 49th District. We will discuss his race against longtime Democratic incumbent Peter J. Abbate Jr. in the 2022 New York State Assembly election, the work he will be doing for all New Yorkers, and the future of the Asian vote. Assemblyman Chang is now New York State’s highest-ranking Asian Republican and is also a military veteran.

When: Thursday, February 9

Time: 7:30 pm (Doors Open)

Location: Midtown Manhattan (Location to be released to ticket purchasers)

Board Positions Available

The New York Young Republican Club is on the lookout to fill several new openings on our Board of Governors. We are looking for members who have a passion for both conservative politics and a background in the duties of these specific committees.

The following committees are in need of new Chairmen: Gala and Socials.

All of these committees report directly to the Executive Committee.

Applicants must be current members of the Club in good standing and must commit to one board meeting and multiple Club events per month, including the Annual Gala.

The Gala Committee Chairman will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and overseeing all efforts related to our Annual Gala, our largest event of the year. We are looking for someone with a passion for and a background in event, wedding, gala planning, catering, or hospitality. The Gala will tentatively take place on December 9th. Strong Excel skills are a must!

The Socials Committee Chairman will be responsible for organizing and coordinating all the Club’s social and networking events in conjunction with the Speakers Committee. We are looking for an individual with experience in event planning/hosting to lead the Socials Committee.

During this transformative time for the New York Young Republican Club, many of you have reached out to us asking how to get more involved with the club, and how to better support our efforts.

One effective way to do this is to join a committee. We are currently looking for Vice-Chairs for many of our committees, who will receive special discounts for working events and recognition on our website. In addition to Vice Chair positions, we are looking to build all of our committees in terms of members.

The New York Young Republican Club has caucuses that advocate for representation of their respective interests in the Club and Republican Party. We invite our members to become more active in our caucuses to promote Republican ideals throughout the five boroughs and beyond.

Any group of five Voting Members of the Club may petition the Board of Governors to charter a Caucus to forward ideas, advance an issue, represent a constituency, endorse candidates, or propose resolutions.
