Musicians Career Management Group

Mondays, 3–5 pm ET

A drop-in networking group, musicians and industry professionals are welcome to participate as often as they wish during the eight weekly meetings. Topics shared in last year’s group included: struggles endured in the music industry and brainstorming ways to overcome barriers; solutions, strategies and practices musicians have been using to navigate their careers; self-care strategies for managing a range of challenges; and identifying next-step career goals.

 

The Career Center

The Career Center offers a comprehensive suite of online programs and services that help entertainment industry and performing arts professionals to identify and find sideline work and discover new careers outside the industry.

Get started by attending The Career Center Orientation (Monday or Wednesday* session) to enroll in the career services offered. Once you've done that, you can enroll in workshops including Career Journey, Act I*, Act II* and Act III*.

The Alex Dubé Scholarship Program supports the education of dancers to build their next professional platforms. Eligible dancers enrolled in accredited degree programs can receive up to $10,000 to assist with tuition payment as they take the next step forward in their careers. Applications open February 15. Financial Wellness

Financial Wellness online workshops and seminars increase your financial knowledge and help you learn the tools and skills to support lifelong financial health and stability.

Take Intro to Financial Wellness to learn the basics of financial wellness.

Additional workshops include Managing Cash Flow and Managing Debt for Creative Professionals.

Health & Health Insurance

The Entertainment Community Fund offers personalized health insurance counseling and enrollment support, referrals to health care resources and seminars on how to care for yourself.

You can also join us for Welcome to Medicare.

The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts, our primary and specialty care health center, is open for appointments. The Health Center accepts most insurance plans, including commercial insurances, several Marketplace/Exchange plans, Medicare and Workers’ Compensation. Call 212.930.7300 for an appointment.

Housing

The Entertainment Community Fund operates several affordable housing residences across the country, and also offers resources to help you learn more about affordable housing opportunities and other housing-related issues you may encounter.

Our Housing Connect 2.0 Tutorial will help applicants navigate New York City’s latest housing lottery system, understand changes to the process and show you how to set up a new profile. If you haven't already, we recommend that you participate in our Applying for Affordable Housing webinar as a prerequisite.

Additional workshops include Apartment Hunting 101: Strategies for Finding Housing in New York City and Affordable Housing for Seniors in NYC.

Social Services

With respect and understanding, our professional social workers offer our community help to address a wide array of challenges via online and phone counseling and support groups, education and practical help—completely free of charge.

The Take Five Parent Support Group and Senior Soloists groups will be starting soon. Learn more and schedule a pre-group interview.

Additional offerings include Self-Care to Give Care and Mindfulness Meditation with the Entertainment Community Fund.


In NYC emergencies can happen at any time. Notify NYC is a new program from the New York City Office of Emergency Management designed to keep you up to date about emergencies and services that impact all New Yorkers, whether it’s at home, work or in the community.
