The election taking place on Saturday 8^th February will be the first General Election since TDs voted for one of the most extreme abortion laws anywhere in the world.

In the run up to the election, pro-abortion TDs will do everything in their power to gloss over and deflect away from the horror of what they introduced.

It is critical to remember that 1 in 3 voters in the 2018 referendum voted against legalised abortion. We have a responsibility to ensure these voters are reminded of the voting records of their local TDs and of the importance of only voting for solidly pro-life candidates in the forthcoming election.

The Pro Life Campaign has compiled a comprehensive list with the voting records of every candidate, which will be published in the coming days. We will also be running a significant online and offline advertising campaign encouraging people to vote pro-life alongside our canvasser recruitment campaign.

In the 2019 Local Elections, an outstanding independent pro-life candidate Malachi Duddy lost out on a council seat by a single vote to Labour’s Anne Ferris in the Bray East constituency.

The same could easily happen to Peadar Tóibín, Peter Fitzpatrick or any other pro-life candidate this time round, if we sit back and do nothing.

Pro-life candidates and their families are making huge personal sacrifices, financial and otherwise to fly the pro-life flag and increase the number of pro-life voices in the Dáil. In return, the least we can do is set aside some free time between now and election day to offer pro-life candidates our solidarity and support. Your canvassing efforts could literally make all the difference in determining whether a pro-life seat is won or lost in your local area.
