Dear Friend,

First they reduced the size of Bears Ears National Monument by 85%. Now they plan to destroy cultural sites and critical habitat in the remaining 15%.

Last week the Trump administration announced its final management plan for what is left of Bears Ears National Monument. In short, it’s a disaster for anyone who cares about protecting sacred sites and irreplaceable landscapes.

The good news is that this plan will be rendered null and void if Earthjustice is successful in our lawsuit opposing President Trump’s 2017 proclamation gutting Bears Ears.

This is where you come in. We are in the middle of our challenge to the Bears Ears rollback, and Earthjustice needs your support to help us see it through and ensure this catastrophic management plan never comes into effect. Will you make a tax-deductible gift today?

The Trump administration’s plan for the remaining part of Bears Ears National Monument puts destructive activities before the public’s interest. This includes opening up sensitive areas to off-road vehicles and clearing potentially thousands of acres of forest with a waist-thick anchor chain dragged between tractors. This is devastating to landscapes and archeological sites, and has no place in the wild, sweeping lands of a national monument. We are committed to stopping this plan in its tracks.

Will you join us and make a gift today? Together we can protect public lands and our natural heritage.

Thank you for your partnership. We couldn’t do this without you.

Sincerely,

Heidi McIntosh
Managing Attorney
