Extreme members are already taking over the Republican party, with shady deals taking place behind closed doors just weeks into the 118th Congress.

Despite their lies, conspiracy theories, and willingness to incite political violence, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, and other extremists have landed powerful committee assignments. Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s undisclosed backroom deals with extreme MAGA Republicans have put them in controversial, key roles.
