The Biden administration has failed to fully keep its promises on tackling the “forever” chemicals known as PFAS. The Environmental Protection Agency was supposed to release drinking water standards for PFOA and PFOS, the two most widespread PFAS, by fall 2022. But we’re still waiting for the EPA to publicly release these vital standards.

PFAS chemicals have been linked to cancer and other serious health risks at incredibly low doses, yet an estimated 200 million Americans are STILL exposed to PFAS-contaminated tap water. PFAS are still commonly used in cookware, clothing and food packaging, even though these chemicals do not break down, building up in our bloodstreams over time.

Over 100 community and environmental organizations are putting pressure on the Biden administration to follow through on its promise and release the PFOA and PFOS drinking water standards. So far, the delay continues. That’s why we need to add our voices to the chorus and tell the Biden administration to release new safety standards for PFAS today!
