COVID-19 Telehealth Treatment Program

The State of Minnesota's telehealth [ [link removed] ] test-to-treat program helps to ensure Minnesotans who have tested positive for COVID-19 have easy access to clinician care and therapeutic treatments that reduce their risk of serious illness or hospitalization.

Minnesotans with a positive COVID-19 test can use a website, mobile app, or phone call to sign up for a virtual consult with a licensed clinician.

* If you are a good candidate for therapeutics, the clinician can provide a prescription virtually to a local pharmacy.
* In some geographic areas, prescription medications can also be delivered to a home address.
* The consult, medication, and delivery will come at no cost.

COVID-19 Testing Update

State-run COVID-19 testing sites in four locations around the state will close this week, marking the end of their nearly three-year run serving Minnesotans. The St. Paul Midway site will close on Friday, Jan. 27, the Duluth site will close on Jan. 28, and the sites in Brooklyn Park and at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport will close on Jan. 29.

COVID-19 tests will continue to be widely available to Minnesotans:

* Find a testing option near you through the state’s Find Testing Locations [ [link removed] ] map.
* Order free at-home rapid tests [ [link removed] ] through the state’s COVID-19 at-home rapid testing program or through USPS at COVID.gov/tests [ [link removed] ].
* Check with your insurance company about ways to get free rapid tests from pharmacies.
* Contact your health care provider or a local pharmacy.

In addition, the telehealth [ [link removed] ] test-to treat program is accessible to all Minnesotans via Cue Health to determine if treatment is a good option.

What's New

COVID-19 Community Coordinators

To continue to serve Minnesotans in ways that meet diverse community needs, MDH has contracted with 48 community partners through June 2024. The contracts extend MDH’s existing pandemic work with COVID-19 Community Coordinators.

COVID-19 Community Coordinators serve communities hit hardest by COVID-19, including communities of color, American Indian communities, LGBTQ communities and Minnesotans with disabilities. They can answer questions about topics such as COVID-19 testing and vaccination, food support, health care and mental health resources, housing and rental assistance, and employment resources. COVID-19 Community Coordinators draw on community strengths and trusted community networks to support Minnesotans who need COVID-19 information specific to their communities, including in their native languages.

COVID-19 Stories of Community Outreach and Partnership

COVID-19 Stories of Community Outreach and Partnership [ [link removed] ] highlight the efforts of our staff in collaboration with community partners during the COVID-19 response. Some stories provide insight into how this work is done, others discuss what challenges our teams face, but all of them recognize how COVID-19 has pushed MDH to try new strategies so we can fulfill our mission of protecting, maintaining, and improving the health of all Minnesotans.

*Project Resonance: Reflecting on our COVID-19 journey*

Asian Media Access (AMA) is a community media arts education agency that supports communities to overcome challenges through education, production, information technology, and community organizing. AMA partnered with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to tap into community cultures, wisdom, and knowledge in promoting equitable access to COVID-19 prevention and response resources.

AMA and Pan Asian Arts Alliance (PAAM) came together to create a rich cultural dance show, AMA: Project Resonance [ [link removed] ], to reflect and showcase the story of their unity and resiliency in fighting the pandemic. Project Resonance is an artistic illustration of the importance of cultural understandings, collaborations, and other hard-won successes in the face of fear, anxieties, and frustrations that gripped the Asian community during the pandemic. Through culturally and artistically nuanced dance movements, the voice and pain of the community is heard and seen.
