John,
Moments ago, the House passed H.Con.Res. 7, a resolution that formally condemns the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini and the Iranian government’s human rights violations against its own people.
This marks the biggest bipartisan step Congress has taken since the uprising in Iran, and is only possible because our community stood up and made our voices heard.
The resolution calls out the regime for its atrocities, it urges Big Tech to make communication tools more accessible for the Iranian people, and urges Biden to continue enacting targeted sanctions at human rights violators.
We'll have more in the days ahead on the path to passing this bill in the Senate and sending it to the President's desk for his signature. But, make no mistake, this action is a big deal and can help make a tangible difference for Iranians fighting for their right to self-determination and a better future.
NIAC Action relies on donations from supporters like you to make victories like this possible, can you consider making a contribution today to help build our organizing and advocacy efforts on the Hill and in the Administration? [[link removed]]
