Happy National Religious Freedom Day!
January 16, 2020
Dear Friends,
January 16th is
National Religious Freedom Day! The founders of our country fled persecution to build and safeguard the religious freedom that distinguishes America to this day.
On January 16, 1786, Virginia enacted Thomas Jefferson’s Statute for Religious Freedom to protect the inherent rights of conscience and religious exercise. Jefferson’s statute later inspired the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment.
Pacific Justice Institute is on the frontlines to preserve our most fundamental rights as they are steadily attacked and disregarded.
Right now our attorneys are battling in court:
- Defending a Christian boarding school against unrelenting efforts by the State of California to shut it down—based on its biblical beliefs!
- Defending a pastor in Spokane against criminal charges for going to a public library to peacefully observe what children were being subjected to during “Drag Queen Story Hour.”
- Defending a Christian college in the South Pacific against a discrimination lawsuit from a Voodoo priest.
- Representing a border patrol agent whose biologically male coworker was given permission to shower and undress in the same locker room with her.
- . . . and dozens of additional cases!
As we strategize to take on new challenges to freedom in 2020, it is
very helpful to know who we have standing with us on a regular
monthly basis. Believe me, it
really makes a difference. Help PJI start 2020 strong and fully equipped to be more aggressive than ever before. Please pray right now about what you can do to become a PJI Monthly Minute Man, or to increase your level of monthly support, and then go to
PJI.org to make 2020 count the most!
Thank you for your support and commitment to defend our First Amendment rights!
Running the race,
Brad Dacus
