[1]Pramila Jayapal

John,

I'm Maxwell Frost, Representative for Florida's 10th Congressional
district and one of Rep. Pramila Jayapal's newest coworkers in Congress.

I asked Rep. Jayapal if I can share my story with her grassroots
supporters since she has always been a champion for working class
families, and I plan to be that champion alongside her.

Now get this — I applied to rent an apartment in DC where I admitted
upfront that my credit was really bad. He said I'd be fine. But I just got
denied, lost the apartment — and my application fee.

Even I, as a member of Congress, am getting rejected by apartments because
of the financial system designed to hold working people back.

Our housing system is broken. Working-class people are facing skyrocketing
rent, gentrification, and de facto segregation. And it's become crystal
clear that we can't rely on the same old institutions to fix the same old
problems.

We NEED and DESERVE young, working, everyday people in Congress who know
firsthand the struggles of the working-class, including the increasingly
dire housing crisis. And we NEED leaders in Congress who will do the work
to fix this broken system — leaders like Rep. Pramila Jayapal, who is firm
in the belief that housing IS a human right.

[ [link removed] ]John, I'm
ready to advocate for better and fairer housing policies in Congress
alongside Rep. Jayapal, but we need your help. We set a goal to raise
$10,000 today to keep our campaigns firing on all cylinders so we can
continue our fight for working families in Congress. Can you make a split
contribution to my campaign and Rep. Jayapal's now?

John, our
political system makes it very difficult for people like myself to run for
office.

The whole reason I have bad credit is because I ran up a lot of debt
running for Congress for a year and a half. For that primary, I quit my
full-time job because I knew that to win at 25 years old, I'd need to be a
full-time candidate: 7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day.

As a candidate, you can't give yourself a paycheck until the very end of
your campaign. For most of the run, you have no money coming in unless you
work a second job. For me, I drove for Uber at night, but that still
wasn't enough to pay for my living expenses.

These financial inequalities are why over 50% of people serving in
Congress are millionaires. It's no wonder that Congress hasn't passed
policies to help working families when politicians are so disconnected
from the average American.

[ [link removed] ]Rep. Jayapal and I are ready to fight for real solutions that so many
Americans face, but we need to raise $10,000 to stay in Congress and
continue pushing our movement forward. Will you pitch in a $27 split
donation between me and Rep. Jayapal before midnight?
