The Inflation Reduction Act is monumental for many reasons. This landmark law fights climate change, invests in our communities, and perhaps most critical to millions of Kansans is that it’s the most significant legislation to tackle the rising costs of prescription drugs we've seen yet.
The fact that many people have to choose between paying for lifesaving medication and keeping a roof over their heads is a disgrace. We pay three times as much as what people in other countries pay for medication. That’s why my Democratic colleagues fought for this measure that gives Medicare the power to negotiate lower prescription drug prices against Big Pharma companies.
But with the new House majority, there’s a movement to slash Medicare and stop our work. And news just broke that Big Pharma tops the lobbying disclosures again, fueling millions of dollars into their agenda to undermine us. That’s why I need you to step up now.
