[link removed] [[link removed]] John,
Let me bottom line this: DOZENS of Philadelphia public schools contain dangerous amounts of asbestos, lead, and mold — I think that’s unacceptable. Sign my petition if you agree>>> [[link removed]]
As the child of a former Philadelphia public school teacher who dealt with asbestos at Olney High School and the parent of a former Philadelphia public school student who had asbestos in his school, this issue is deeply personal for me. That’s why last year I authored legislation, unanimously approved by the City Council, requiring the City to inspect Philadelphia’s schools for unsafe conditions.
Now, the School District of Philadelphia is choosing litigation over collaboration to avoid coming into compliance this year. Add your name to my petition if you agree: We need to come together as a City on this issue, not tear each other apart in court>>> [[link removed]]

And I’m not alone in this. I just wrapped up a press conference with Councilmember Vaughn, along with teachers, students, and other community stakeholders — all of whom have one thing in common: We care about the health and safety of our teachers, students, and all school district employees.
Our kids and teachers deserve better but actions like this from the school district are exactly why they don’t expect more of us. That has to change — this is a moment to come together to face these challenges head on and ultimately provide for a better future for our children and our City.
That’s why I’m asking you to add your name in support of solving this health crisis together through thoughtful collaboration — not costly litigation. Add your name here, John. [[link removed]]
