SOUTH CAROLINA
Big Update! SC Freedom Caucus Chairman Adam Morgan was on Glenn Beck’s radio show this morning. Listen here.
If you live in South Carolina, be sure to call House Majority Leader Dave Hiott at (803) 734-3138 and tell him you stand with Adam and the South Carolina Freedom Caucus.
We know Hiott and his colleagues read these emails. So here’s a direct message to them – more air support is coming. A lot more. Buckle up.
And a big thank you goes to Glenn for being so supportive of our efforts. He and his great team at Blaze TV are enabling us to reach more and more people.
WYOMING
The Cowboy State’s attorney general is an appointed position. So the office is not accountable to voters. The Wyoming Freedom Caucus wants to change that because their current AG has been enabling the Far Left by being silent. Excerpt from a local paper:
The Wyoming Freedom Caucus is pushing legislation that would change the attorney general from an appointed to an elected position, another move by the group seeking to change some of the ways in which governance in Wyoming operates. The caucus admonished Wyoming Attorney General Bridget Hill in a statement on Tuesday for not joining an "important letter" signed by 21 Republican state attorneys general that admonished proxy-voting advisory firms for "placing radical social activism ahead of the financial interests of their clients."
From the WYFC statement:
Perhaps no state is more adversely impacted by the work of these corporate activists than Wyoming. Environmental and social governance (ESG) policies seek to destroy the resources Wyoming produces - the very same resources used to power the boardrooms promulgating them.
HB0107, sponsored by Representative Heiner (HD 18) would empower Wyoming citizens to elect our Attorney General. The WYFC fully supports this effort in the hopes that our state will join the 43 other states who elect their state's top advocate. The WYFC also supports all legislative efforts to stop ESG in Wyoming, including SF0159, sponsored by Senator Biteman (SD 21) and HB210, sponsored by Majority Floor Leader Neiman (HD 01).
SOUTH DAKOTA
Governor Kristi Noem, who carries a false reputation of being a conservative rock star, pushed a $200 million “economic development” bill in the state legislature earlier this week. This price tag includes $50 million from the Biden Democrats who sent the money to the states for special interests to splurge on. Congressional Republicans from South Dakota all opposed this when it was debated in DC. But once the money was sent to South Dakota, Noem and most Republican lawmakers seized on the opportunity to spend this money. Except for the South Dakota Freedom Caucus, whose members fought it on the SC House floor by filing several amendments.
Ultimately, the bill passed over their objections. But to truly understand the soft corruption that occurs in this state and elsewhere, check out this video where State Rep. Roger Chase admits that he would personally profit from the bill. He sponsored the bill, voted for the bill, and refused to recuse himself from it!
IDAHO
Yesterday, we wrote about how Idaho education superintendent Debbie Critchfield is opposed to the Idaho Freedom Caucus’s school choice push, now we’re learning that she’s doing President Biden’s bidding. Recall that IDFC member Senator Chris Trakel went to a Caldwell School Board meeting to fight against a proposed rule that would allow biological boys to go into the girls’ locker room. From Brian Almon with the Gem State substack report:
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield sent a letter to legislators explaining that while neither the state nor the federal government technically require school districts to adopt woke policies, the threat of litigation from the federal government means they probably should.
“It is accurate to say that the federal government does not require districts or charters to adopt such policies,” Critchfield wrote. “However, schools can be subject to intense federal scrutiny and potential legal risk if they don’t adopt such policies… Based on this reality, local education leaders can find themselves in a no-win situation. They may adopt policies that some patrons find objectionable or risk an onerous federal investigation and legal action.”
In other words: It’s a nice school district you have here. It would be a shame if somebody destroyed it with onerous litigation.
Who needs Democrats when we have “Republicans” like Critchfield? The good news is that the Idaho Freedom Caucus will be fighting this alongside Idaho’s attorney general, Raul Labrador (a founding House Freedom Caucus member when he was in Congress). Stay tuned for more.
MISSISSIPPI
Our MS Freedom Caucus Chairman Dana Criswell is exposing his “Republican” colleagues on tax hikes. Please consider retweeting:
Please donate to the State Freedom Caucus Network TODAY. The best way to save our country is to fight in the states. So we need your help!
As Glenn Beck said, “If we abandon them now, we deserve what we get. These people are brave enough to stand. We must support them.”
