Dear John,
Good day, and welcome residents of North Carolina’s Third Congressional District. As we start a new Congress, I wanted to provide you with some important updates. As of January 3rd, 2023, our district no longer encompasses Chowan, Perquimans, Pasquotank, and Tyrell Counties. We also lost a portion of Pitt County as well. Joining our district is Sampson County and the eastern side of Wayne County. If you would like to learn more, you can do so here.
For those of you who are new to our district – and as a reminder for those of you already here – our offices in eastern North Carolina are here to serve you! In fact, last year our team returned over $3 million to constituents and closed out thousands of constituent cases before the federal government. We are customer service oriented, and we can inquire on your behalf with a wide array of government agencies and departments. While our office cannot guarantee favorable outcomes, we will do our best to help you receive fair and timely responses. If you need help with a federal agency, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
I am also constantly hard at work to pass meaningful legislation for Eastern North Carolina. As just one example, my bill – The Camp Lejeune Justice Act – was recently signed into law. This momentous piece of legislation eliminates burdensome red tape to ensure those exposed to toxic chemicals at Camp Lejeune can receive their day in court. I also had legislation signed into law that helps student veterans quickly and easily transfer their course credits to another institution should their school close or program end suddenly. These are just a few of the achievements we have made over the last year, and as we begin the new session in Congress, I am excited to continue delivering results for our great community.
As always, it is an honor to serve you in Congress. For more information, and to receive real-time updates on my work in North Carolina and Washington, follow me on Facebook and Twitter, and subscribe to my newsletter.
