Redistricting update, John! Texas lawmakers are gearing up for another round of redistricting. Unfortunately, experts predict no significant changes to the maps but we are closely monitoring the process.
The question is whether Texas conservatives will redraw the state's map without engaging the people.
Not on our watch! Donate today to help All On The Line advocate for more fair maps redraws. >> [link removed]
We believe Texans deserve fair representation. We are prepared to advocate for stronger protections for communities of interest, barring racial, partisan, or incumbent gerrymandering.
Redistricting provides Texas a second chance to draw fair maps that reflect the state's communities of interest and growing communities of color.
According to the Texas Demographic Center, communities of color have accounted for over 95% of growth during the previous decade. A significant adjustment to reflect an inclusive, fair map must be made.
What would an inclusive, fair legislative map include? A new state legislative map should reflect this demographic shift and allow communities of color the opportunity to vote for their candidate of choice.
All On The Line’s organizers have sprung into action, providing training for upcoming Texas’ public input hearings that start on January 25th. Our teams are mobilizing volunteers to take action every month in 2023 to end gerrymandering across the nation.
Take action today to help All On The Line continue to have the resources to advocate for fair maps and redraws in places like Texas so all communities' voices are heard at the ballot box. >> [link removed]
