Dear John,
Without question, 2022 was a transformational year in the effort to end abortion in America.
It was a year in which seismic shifts shook the abortion landscape. After nearly 50 years of incremental gains through policy battles and court cases, in 2022 we had major breakthroughs:
- Roe was finally overturned, letting states decide abortion policy
- 12 states ended legal abortion
- 60,000 lives were saved—babies born who otherwise would have been aborted—according to estimates
- And yes, the abortion industry punched back with massive spending and lies, winning some high-profile election contests
That brings us to 2023. But it’s not just a new year. It’s a completely new battlefield that you and I stand on.
Last year, we took a beachhead. As a result, we now have the ability to actually save lives by the hundreds, by the thousands and more.
Just like a military invasion, taking this beachhead was costly. The ferocity of the Left’s counter-response was intense. The timing—right before an election—worked to their benefit. And their huge financial advantage—35-to-1 in the five general-election state ballot measures related to abortion—helped them dominate the airwaves with deception and outright lies.
And now the abortion industry and their political allies are employing what might best be termed guerilla tactics:
- They are deploying abortion vans to park just outside the borders of pro-life states—to lure customers from those states for seedy “backseat abortions.”
- States like California are seeking to become “abortion vacation” destinations, using tax dollars to cover travel costs and to market to women from pro-life states.
- Abortion pills are being illegally mailed to women in pro-life states—putting not just unborn babies’ lives at risk, but also those of the women—since they will be taking them without proper medical supervision.
Yet, here we stand, in a post-Roe world—in which lives continue to be saved every day and the potential to save even more lives is very real.
You see, despite the abortion industry’s splash on ballot measures, the results were far more encouraging when it came to candidate elections:
- Every governor who signed a pro-life bill in the last year won re-election.
- Several states grew their pro-life numbers in state legislatures, creating new opportunities to add significant pro-life protections across the country.
- And improvements in the U.S. House give us a fighting chance to stop the Biden Administration’s pro-abortion agenda at the federal level.
But the rubber is about to meet the road as state legislative sessions get started this
month in more than 40 states.
That's why I’m asking for your donation to advance life-saving policies and to push back against the abortion industry.
Your gift today will:
- Strategically mobilize pro-life citizens for legislative battles
- Equip Statesmen with pro-life legislation, strategies and resources
- Train Members of Congress on pro-life messaging
- And much more!
This is the moment we’ve been waiting for—in some states, the first chance to protect life since Roe was overturned. I invite you tohelp save little lives in 2023!
For life,
Craig DeRoche
President & CEO
