- Decriminalizing drugs and building health-based alternatives. It’s a fact. Treating problematic drug use as a health issue, instead of a criminal problem, is a more successful model for keeping communities healthier and safer.
- Removing everyday obstacles created by the drug war. We are fighting to end employee drug tests that block thousands of people from being hired because they tested positive for a drug – not based on anything related to job function or safety. This past September, we helped ban most
workplace marijuana drug testing in California.
- Reinvesting drug war
resources into communities. This will remain central to all of our work. Redirecting resources for drug enforcement into non-punitive responses will go a long way toward tearing down the drug war.
