Come join GLASS for a Professional Development event with Kei Koizumi Principal, Deputy Director for Policy for House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP)
Since January 2021, Kei Koizumi has been back at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), currently Principal Deputy Director for Policy, after serving as Chief of Staff for the first 10 months of the Biden Administration and also Acting Director for the first five months of the Administration. Immediately before that, he served on the Biden-Harris Transition Team as the Lead for the National Science Foundation (NSF) and a member of the OSTP transition.
In prior, Kei has served as Senior Advisor in Science Policy at American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He was also Assistant Director for Federal Research and Development and Senior Advisor to the Director for the National Science and Technology Council at OSTP. Before serving on the Obama-Biden transition team in 2008-2009, he was the Director of the R&D Budget and Policy Program at AAAS. He received his M.A. from the Center for International Science, Technology, and Public Policy program at the George Washington University (where he teaches part-time) and his B.A. from Boston University in Political Science and Economics. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
