John,

Last year, President Biden took historic action to address the worsening student debt crisis by canceling up to $20,000 in federal student loans for tens of millions of Americans.

But the GOP and their special interest backers immediately set out to stop it by filing lawsuits against the White House’s debt relief plan.

The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments for the cases next month, but with Trump’s far-right justices in the majority, the financial security of millions of middle-class Americans is in jeopardy. Will you take a moment to share with us what $20,000 in student debt relief would mean for you and your family?

As a former public school teacher, Becca knows that there is no greater equalizer in our society than a quality education. But right now, generations of Americans are being punished for their desire to access the opportunities that higher education provides.

Biden’s unprecedented action to implement mass student debt relief will liberate thousands of Vermonters from back-breaking interest payments and give them a chance to build a strong financial future. We cannot let the Supreme Court take away this critical lifeline.

Becca believes that we need to cancel all student debt to give every American a fighting chance at saving, investing, and building a strong financial future for themselves and their families. But she also knows that President Biden’s decision to cancel up to $20,000 in student debt would be a game-changer for folks here in Vermont. Will you take a moment to share what $20,000 of student debt relief would mean to you, and why we need it here in Vermont?
