Today has been a big day for the Senate. Here's everything you need to know so far.
This morning the House impeachment managers "solemnly" walked the two articles of impeachment formed against President Trump from the House to the Senate. Then Supreme Court Cheif Justice John Roberts and all present US Senate members were sworn in and the impeachment trial of President Trump officially began.
"Senators, I attend the Senate in conformity with your notice for the purpose of joining with you for the trial of the president of the United States," Roberts said according to Fox News.
Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., hammered Speaker Nancy Pelosi for handing out souvenir pens and gigglind during the impeachment signing calling it a “taxpayer-funded campaign stunt.”
"If this was real, if this was really as serious as they claimed this would be, yesterday was no cause for celebration,” McCarthy stated.
