Team: Before I came to Congress, I spent 20 years as a clean energy scientist. I built two successful companies that created technology to harness the power of renewable energy to fight the climate crisis. As a Co-Chair of the NewDems Climate Change Task Force in the 117th Congress, I worked with my colleagues to build the consensus needed to address the climate crisis, and we passed the Inflation Reduction Act, which put record-breaking investments into reducing emissions and making our infrastructure more resilient to extreme weather. But now, a significant number of Republicans in Congress do not accept climate science and refuse to take legislative action to protect the future of our planet – even as extreme storms, flooding, and drought are gripping large parts of the country.
