Canadian Mining Corp. Belo Sun is attempting to open Brazil’s largest open pit gold mine in the Xingu River Basin. The company’s sole project, the Volta Grande Project, has the potential to cause severe repercussions for surrounding communities, biodiversity, and climate stability in the Amazon region, and therefore, the entire planet.

We need your support to make sure we get #BeloSunOut of the Amazon!

YES! I’LL SIGN ON TO PROTECT INDIGENOUS RIGHTS AND KICK BELO SUN OUT OF THE AMAZON!

Belo Sun has had its license suspended due to a failure to carry out proper socio-environmental studies of the impacts that the Volta Grande Project would have upon the surrounding Indigenous peoples. If built, the project would threaten the already fragile Amazonian ecosystem that local communities rely on for their lives and livelihoods.

Join us in taking action to defend the rights of Indigenous peoples in the Xingu River Basin of the Brazilian Amazon and to protect the biodiversity of this region.

Sign the petition and help us get Belo Sun Mining Corp out of the Amazon!
