Just as they promised to do, House Republicans are threatening to not raise the debt ceiling.

The GOP is even willing to gut programs like Social Security and Medicare. If they get their way, it would put the health and retirements of New Jerseyans and Americans across the country at risk along with financial markets and our entire economy. We must be clear: America’s financial obligations can never be a bargaining chip to pass an extreme right-wing agenda. 

The American people elected us to do our jobs and get things done, but in the first month of their new majority, House Republicans have delayed progress at every turn.

And when Republicans do bring up legislation, it’s divisive and dangerous -- including efforts to further restrict reproductive care.

House Republicans are putting their politics over what’s best for our country.

I always put country over partisan politics -- I have ever since I joined the Naval Academy at 18 years old and I will continue to as your Congresswoman.

We need to start putting in the work now to win back the House and put leaders in charge who will work together to get things done and address the big issues facing us. Will you chip in a few dollars today?
