** Congress Must Codify the Office of Congressional Ethics ([link removed])

Since 2008, the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) has provided vital nonpartisan oversight and accountability in the House of Representatives. OCE is the only independent ethics investigative body in Congress, but its existence is not always guaranteed. That’s why CLC recently joined more than 25 organizations in urging Congress to make OCE permanent.
Voters have a right to know that their lawmakers will be held accountable for ethics violations. As we stated in the letter, OCE should not just be codified - it should be given the tools it needs to conduct the essential work it does.
