John,
I know this work is critically important, but it doesn't make life without my beautiful butterfly Dylan any easier. It never gets easier to constantly relive the day that he was murdered in his first-grade classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary.
But everything we do to save other families from this excruciating pain honors my baby boy's life. That's what keeps me going, and that's why it meant so much to see so many supporters take the time to respond to our survey last month.
I've been looking over the responses as we begin a new year, and I've been so moved. Nearly everyone – about 91% of survey-takers – think that our most important advocacy goal should be demanding the Senate finally pass universal background checks.
More than 3,300 supporters shared their thoughts on what we should focus on heading into 2020, and I can't tell you how much of a difference this kind of feedback makes in our work. Now, I'd love to dig even deeper. Will you answer a few follow-up questions to help us make sure your priorities are at the center of our work in 2020? I would be so grateful:

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your insight – and for helping me honor Dylan by preventing other tragedies before they happen. It truly means the world to have your support.
With love,
Nicole Hockley (Dylan's mom)
