Hi John,
I have good news: the House of Representatives is expected to vote on and pass H.Con.Res. 7 [[link removed]] , commending the Iranian people, as soon as tomorrow. It's a bipartisan, bicameral resolution that condemns the Iranian government's human rights abuses and offers smart approaches to stand in solidarity with the Iranian people.
NIAC Action supports this bill and we need your help, John, to make sure your legislator supports it and to build momentum for passage in the Senate. Will you sign our petition calling on Congress to pass H.Con.Res. 7? [[link removed]]

Why is this bill so important?
1.
The
resolution
explicitly
calls
on
big
tech
companies
to
make
vital
internet
and
communications
technology
accessible
to
people
inside
Iran.
Although
the
Biden
administration
loosened
internet
restrictions
[[link removed]]
last
September,
many
private
sector
companies
have
failed
to
meet
the
moment
and
help
Iranians.
That’s
why
H.Con.Res.
7
is
paramount
to
encouraging
the
risk-averse
tech
giants
to
provide
Iranians
with
vital
tools
to
skirt
the
Iranian
government’s
surveillance.
2.
3.
H.Con.Res
7
encourages
sanctions
to
be
targeted
at
human
rights
violators,
not
Iranian
society
as
a
whole.
Compared
to
the
nationwide
sanctions
that
have
hurt
Iranian
society
and
the
decades-long
movement
for
democracy
and
human
rights,
this
resolution
encourages
the
Biden
administration
to
keep
focusing
on
authorities
that
directly
target
Iran’s
repressive
apparatus,
not
its
innocent
citizens.
We’re on the verge of seeing a victory for Iranian protestors and human rights. Can you help us move one step closer to passing H.Con.Res. 7 by signing our petition? [[link removed]]
