Dear John,
This month marks the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Although that infamous court decision was thankfully overturned last June, the ripple effects remain.
Some U.S. states have bought into the pro-abortion lobby's lies, permitting abortion up until the day of birth. Other states have policies that protect the unborn, but some of those laws are facing court challenges. (Visit frc.org/ProLifeMaps to see the status of abortion laws in your state today.)
We at Family Research Council have our work cut out for us in educating and equipping pro-life Americans and legislators to stand for life effectively against formidable opposition.
In somber reflection, I have wondered how the church might have responded in the months leading up to Roe in 1973 if they knew what we know now. Fifty years later, the reality of that court decision has led to over 60 million aborted babies, with countless women and men living with the adverse psychological effects of abortion.
If they had known, would it have stirred them to pray, vote, and stand more boldly for biblical truth on human dignity and the personhood of the unborn?
We will never know.
But I urge you to consider that we stand at a similar cultural watershed moment in our nation with another critical issue: gender identity ideology.
I pray that you would consider this comparison with this question in mind: What are you willing to do to turn the tide and stand for biblical truth today?
At FRC, we don't want the church to regret our inaction on this harmful ideology that is destroying lives. Now is the time to pray and engage our culture.
A first step you can take is to partner with FRC through a vital gift to counter the gender identity agenda with biblical truth as we defend the God-given right of parents to protect their children.
PARTNER WITH FRC
At FRC, we understand the importance of proper spiritual and psychological care for a child struggling with gender dysphoria. Loving people affected by gender dysphoria means we speak truth to offer healing and hope. But the movement encouraging children to deny their biological sex and mutilate their bodies is evil.
The prophet Isaiah warned, "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness" (Isaiah 5:20).
As Christians, we acknowledge that abortion and gender identity ideology are spiritual battles. Prayer is the essential first step in pushing back the darkness, but we must also use biblical truth to guide our families and shape our public policy.
That's why FRC is focused on providing resources to encourage Christians to read and stand on the Word of God.
To turn the tide in protecting our children, pastors must preach on these issues. However, according to George Barna's report from the American Worldview Inventory, only half (51%) of evangelical pastors have a biblical worldview. Even more disturbing, a mere 12% of children's and youth pastors embrace a biblical worldview.
How can we combat the harmful narrative from big government and the mainstream media if our churches remain silent?
Will you consider a generous donation to help FRC expose the Left's indoctrination and equip Christians with a biblical worldview to counter these harmful ideologies?
DONATE NOW
Scripture compels us to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves. The pro-life movement continues to speak for the silent voices of the unborn.
Today, we have the voices of the "detransitioner" movement.
Thousands of young men and women are speaking out publicly, rejecting gender identity ideology, and embracing their biological sex. Unfortunately, the detransitioner movement is almost entirely ignored by the mainstream media because it doesn't fit the narrative.
Their voices deserve to be heard; you can count on FRC and The Washington Stand to share their stories.
Stories like Chloe Cole's. At just 13 years old, Chloe went on puberty blockers and testosterone. When she began questioning her gender identity, she was fast-tracked by medical personnel into transitioning, and her parents were pressured to sign off on it. She underwent a double mastectomy at 13 and still suffers medical complications five years later.
Chloe has launched a support group for detransitioners and is an advocate for protecting children from undergoing transition procedures. Her voice is one of many who speak out about the dangers of pushing young patients down a path of drugs and surgical procedures that often create irreversible psychological and physical harm.
A generation is rising up.
Their cries of grief are heartbreaking but their courage provides hope and healing. FRC will keep highlighting these stories despite the mainstream media shutting out their voices. We have to stand with them and speak up!
Will you join FRC in highlighting their voices of truth on this issue?
Thank you in advance for your faithful support!
Together we can turn the tide in countering the Left's gender identity agenda and defend the right of parents to be involved in their children's medical decisions.
